
49th Annual Anacortes Arts Festival in Historic Downtown Anacortes August 6, 7, & 8, 2010 10am-6pm (Frid & Sat), 10-5 (Sunday) FREE (except evening concerts).
The Anacortes Arts Festival has grown over the 49 years to include 250 juried street artisans spanning 10 blocks on historic downtown Anacortes Commerical Avenue. Performing arts will be highlighted on three music stages with all-day, diverse entertainment. Evening concerts on the Pier starting July 23, running through festival weekend including Jr Cadillac, Chance McKinney & Crosswire, Brandon Vance & Friends, Maria Muldaur & Her Red Hot Bluesianan Band, Crumac and Rouge.
Art at the Port Fine Art Exhibition includes a Biennial Invitational Juried Art Exhibition featuring work from 32 Northwest artist. The John L. Scott Focus Gallery features ceramic work by Larry Richmond and fiber art by Sally Sellers. The Experience Art Demonstration Area features performance art, painting, drawing, wood turning, design and assemblage art.
The Anacortes Arts Festival is family friendly. Check out the Youth Discovery Area which combines activities for kids and the Interactive Tent where children can interface with artists through music, dance, magic, drumming, juggling and theatre.
